Our Hero

Our History

Our History

Wyatt loved life and he loved superheroes. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and had a heart transplant right before his second birthday. His heart transplant allowed us to be together for 9 more years. He fought cancer and won in 2019. Shortly after he was declared cancer free it was found that the chemotherapy medication damaged his donor heart. Wyatt passed away in January of 2020 and is loved and missed every single day.

Our History

Our History

Motivated by the life of our own hero and the journey of families around us we decided to take a simple hashtag that we used to inspire ourselves and turn it into a mission. To be #bravelikewyatt is to be brave and courageous when life is scary and uncertain. It's easier to face the chronic illness of a child  with support. We established Brave Like Wyatt to provide families with the support they need to be their own heroes.

Our Mission

Our History

Our Mission

With the need for pediatric transplants rising the average wait time is increasing. Many patients must wait for transplants in the hospital for many months. Children with cancer can spend weeks at a time inpatient. Families suffer emotional, physical and financial burdens trying to navigate the journey to save their child's life. Our mission is to help ease the burden these families by contributing to community resources,  providing financial assistance for household bills, travel assistance and, when needed, funeral expenses.
